“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105)
David, who slayed Goliath, used the Bible as his guide for life
- David said he hid God’s word in his heart. You have done that already – with the verses you have memorised.
- .
When shall I read it?
Choose a regular time in your day (eg after you get dressed in the morning or it could be when you get home from school). Then read a bit of the Bible that time each day (it doesn’t matter if you miss some days)
YPs
I will get you all a copy of “YPs” to try: it gives you a small bit of the Bible to read each day.
Next week … have you got any other analogies for what the Bible is like?
Today was cell meeting number 137!
Loads of yummy cheesy food – thank you to everyone who brought something
Shame I couldn’t eat any of it 😦 (I’m ‘lactose intolerant’: not allowed any food with milk or dairy in it)
King David obviously wasn’t lactose intolerant: as we learned this week from that famous story ‘David, Goliath & the 10 cheeses’ (why are people always forgetting the important role of the cheeses in this story?!). You can read all about it in 2 Samuel 17 (check out verse 29).
David had great faith 🙂 – he knew he was going to beat Goliath because he knew God was with him.
Cheese week was our 136th boys’ cell meeting!
